After a long season and highly competitive tournaments, senior varsity bowler A.J. Mclarty finished in the top eight at the state finals in Sterling Heights on Saturday.
Sixty high school bowlers from Michigan hit Sunnybrook Lanes with the hopes of being number one in the state.
Mclarty first bowled six games for a total of 1,315 and qualified for the elimination rounds against 15 other boys.
He won his first match against a Utica Ford bowler, which moved him to a match up against top seed bowlers, Grand Blanc.
Although Mclarty only won one game 220-203 before being eliminated, his placing in the top eight is something his fellow teammates and school are very proud of.
Congratulations, A.J.!
