McElroy, Vasquez earn All-State honors in girls Division 1 lacrosse

ORION TWP. — Lake Orion High School lacrosse players Quinn McElroy and Morgan Vasquez have earned all-state honors from the Michigan Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association.
McElroy, a four-year starter on the girls varsity lacrosse team, was named to the Division 1 First Team All-State squad by the MWLCA. She plays attack and midfield for the Dragons.
In 2022, McElroy was named second team all-state by the MWLCA, along with Lake Orion goalie Paige Walker.
McElroy, a recent graduate, has signed to play lacrosse at Grand Valley State University in the fall. She was also named Oakland Activities Association All-League the past two years and was the team MVP her sophomore year.
Vasquez is an attacker for the Dragons and an Honorable Mention in Division 1 by the MWLCA. This is the second year in a row that Vasquez has an Honorable Mention recognition.
Morgan Vasquez, a junior at Lake Orion HS, reached her 200th career point in the Davison regional quarterfinal game on May 24 at Oxford High School. In 50 games, Vasquez has 162 goals and 38 assists.
The Michigan Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association serves to promote the appreciation, understanding and growth of high school women’s lacrosse in Michigan.
