Despite a 6-2 loss to visiting Kearsley April 5, a couple of Goodrich boys tennis players provided bright spots for the Martians.
At #1 singles, Mark Mayberry defeated Kearsley’s Rafael Tuck 6-4, 6-2, while at #2 singles, Nick Misek triumphed against Chris Naismith 8-6, 7-5. In the other singles matchup, Kearsley’s Johan Pettersson defeated Wes Clark 6-0, 6-0.
Kearsley swept the Martians in doubles competition. Branden Best and Jazz Farha defeated John Tremblay and Curtis Stack at #1 doubles 6-1, 6-0; Zach Rivest and Jacob Mal defeated Matt Truax and Ryan Spisak at #2 doubles 6-1, 6-0; and Terry Smith and Evan Bailey defeated Ryan Woolley and Gabe Yancho at #3 doubles 6-2, 6-0.
The Martians? next meet is April 19 when they travel to Davison for a 4 p.m. matchup.
