Martians drop Falcons in homecoming win

The Goodrich Martians football team came to play on Oct. 5, winning their homecoming game 38-14 over the visiting LakeVille Falcons.
Both LakeVille and Goodrich tallied scores in the first quarter, with Jake Bourassa rushing 18 yards for a Martian score. During the second quarter, Andrew Bratton kicked a field goal, and Matt Burnor added the second touchdown of the game. With a 1:03 left in the third quarter, Grant Overcashier scored, lifting the Martians to a 24-7 advantage. The Goodrich Martians continued to pour it on LakeVille in the final quarter, with touchdowns from Bourassa and Burnor.
‘The team played together very well this week,? said Goodrich Varsity Football Coach Tom Alward.
‘We executed better, and had better defense. During the first quarter we had defensive breakdowns, but we had fewer mistakes and the team played hard the entire game. All in all, we played very well.?
Goodrich’s record is now 2-4.
