Martian now Syracuse royalty

A 2009 Goodrich High School graduate, Chloe Slade, was recently selected to the 2012 Syracuse University Homecoming Court. The king and queen were voted from some of the more than 15,000 students who attend the Division I school located in central New York. The five winners were announced on Nov. 9 at the homecoming pep rally in Hendricks Chapel on the campus of Syracuse.
At halftime of the Louisville Cardinals vs. Syracuse Orangemen football game on Nov. 10, the homecoming king and queen were announced.
Although Slade was not selected as Syracuse Homecoming Queen, she was very thankful for the opportunity to participate.
‘It’s really not about winning, rather the honor of just being on the homecoming court,? said Slade. ‘I was also on the Goodrich Homecoming Court back in 2008. It’s really a privilege to be selected.?
Slade is anticipating completing her studies at Syracuse in May 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in communication and rhetorical studies. She’s planning a career in the music industry and working in Nashville or Los Angeles.
While Slade did not win, her Orangemen did defeat the No. 20 ranked Cardinals, 45-26, in front of a crowd of 40,312 in the Carrier Dome.
