It was not an auspicious season debut for the Goodrich varsity volleyball team.
The Martians went 0-3-1 in match play as they hosted their annual Goodrich Early Bird Tournament Saturday, Dec. 16. The team compiled a 1-7 record in terms of game played.
In pool play, Goodrich split with Bentley 25-22, 20-25, then lost to Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 13-25, 15-25 and Holly 18-25, 23-25. The Martians were then eliminated by the Bronchos in the first round of bracket play 13-25, 13-25.
North Branch won the tournament by defeating L’Anse Creuse in the championship match 25-22, 25-22.
