Goodrich’s varsity boys soccer team is getting plenty of contributions while remaining on top of the Genesee Area Conference standings.
The Martians? most recent win came Sept. 19, when they shut out Durand 3-0, improving to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in the league.
Chad Marler put the Martians on the scoreboard in the second half after both teams were held scoreless in the first half. Marler’s goal with 27 minutes left in the second half gave the Martians a 1-0 lead.
Stephen Harlow scored two minutes later to increase the Goodrich lead to 2-0, then Dan Eisinger put the capper on the win with another Goodrich goal with 18 minutes remaining in the game.
In another league game, the Martians defeated Lake Fenton 2-0, as David Garr scored three minutes into the game and Eisinger scored with 10 minutes gone in the first half.
The Martians had two different goalies contribute to the two wins, as Andy Krause was in goal for the Durand game and Robert Novak was in net for the Lake Fenton game.
