Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Meadowbrook Ct. for a mailbox that was damaged by a pipe bomb on Sept. 10.
According to the sheriff’s report, the homeowner heard a loud explosion around 3 a.m.
He found the top half of his custom-made mailbox, made of plastic, brick and field stone, blown apart.
Damages from the bomb were about $1,000.
Deputies found debris from a pipe bomb thrown as far as 10 ft. away on each side of the mailbox.
The incident is being investigated by the OCSD Fire Investigation Unit.
