LOHS girls? varsity soccer team climbs to the top

The sky’s the limit for the Lake Orion girls? varsity team, who has moved up even higher this week on ESPN’s Fab 50 National Girls? Soccer poll.
Last week, the girls reached number 32 of all girls? soccer teams in the nation.
This week, the girls climbed up nine more spots to number 23.
In Michigan, the Lady Dragons still currently hold the number two spot.
‘I am honored and proud of what the nation and state think of the Lake Orion Dragons, and the kids on our team have earned some recognition for an exceptional effor in the the off season and during the season,? Coach Ken Snage said.
For the week of May 11, the girls continued their winning streak, winning both of their games.
On Tuesday, May 12, the Lady Dragons beat third ranked Troy Athens High School with a shutout of 2-0.
Goals came from Alicia Tirpak and Jamie Tasco with assists from Kelsey Hopper and Niki Read.
In the Clarkston game on Thursday, May 14, Lake Orion won 2-1.
Kelsie Deppen scored on a penalty kick, and Kelsey Galuardi scored the second goal of the game.
Alyssa Mason was the goalie for both the Athens and Clarkston games. She blocked 8 saves in the Athens game and 5 against the Clarkston Wolves.
Their current record is 14-0-3 for the season.
The Lady Dragon’s next game will be on Wednesday, May 20 at Holly High School at 6:45, and Thursday at 6:30 they will play against rivals at Oxford High School.
