In 2007, Kristel Coronado was the Michigan Multi-Sport Sprint Triathlon Series Champion.
In 2008, she’ll try to repeat. But she’ll be doing so as a proud member of Team StayPut.
‘Goody StayPut hair products sponsors this athletic team,? Coronado said.?’They accepted 225 (180 from the U.S. & 45 from Canada) female athletes, singled out from?2,700 total applicants,’to join the sponsored athlete team.?
Coronado said the purpose of the team, which is double the size of the 2007 team, is to help encourage fitness amongst females by promoting the Goody StayPut collection of high performance hair accessories.
‘The requirements to fulfill are minimal when compared to the benefits of being sponsored,? Coronado said.?’As team members, we will also act as brand ambassadors for Goody StayPut in our local communities. Basically, they expect that we will complete at least six events in 2008.?
With her busy race schedule, Coronado expects to complete those requirements by mid-summer. She’ll also be participating in a few expos and ‘Girls on the Run? events in Cincinnati and Warren.
‘All events I race will be done wearing my branded Goody StayPut apparel and hair accessories,? she noted.
Coronado was encouraged to apply for the team by a fellow graduate student (and 2007 StayPut team member) at the University of Michigan, where she is pursuing her Master’s in engineering.
The 2000 Lake Orion High School graduate works as an engineer for General Motors, and spends her free time racing in triathlons, marathons and adventure races throughout the region.
She is expecting to receive her branded race apparel and many more details about the team soon.
‘I’m very excited,? Coronado said. ‘This will be a great experience to network and gain experience in the multi-sport world.?
