The Lake Orion boys swimming and diving team opened their 2004-05 season on Dec. 16, losing to Bloomfield Hills Lahser, 99-87.
Dragon swimmers Pat Dodge and Ricky Forrest had two victories each, with Dodge taking the 200 freestyle (1:49.79), and the 100 freestyle (49.28); and Forrest winning in the 200 individual medley (2:09.18), and the 500 freestyle (4:59.91).
Lake Orion’s Garrett Ruhland was the winner of the 100 butterfly, with a time of 56.03, and was a member of the winning 200 freestyle relay team, along with Andrew Kuehl, Dodge and David Brown, finishing with a time of 1:33.28.
The Dragons swam against Troy on Dec. 21, before the holiday break. They defeated Troy, 92-91, with Dodge taking the 200 freestyle (1:48.18) and the 100 freestyle (49.09), Forrest taking the 200 IM (2:07.18).
Ruhland was the winner in the 50 freestyle (22.68), and the 100 butterfly (56.02), while Brandon Figurski took the diving competition with a score of 240.
David Brown won the 500 freestyle (5:04.89), and the Lake Orion team of Ruhland, Dodge, Kuehl and Brown took the 200 freestyle relay (1:32.06).
The 400 freestyle relay team of Ruhland, Kuehl, Brown and Dodge also won, finishing in 3:25.41.
