LO grapplers find the right moves

The Lake Orion varsity wresting squad posted a couple victories over the week.
They pummeled the West Bloomfield Lakers 53-19 at the OAA Quad Meet on Dec. 10, held at Clarkston High School.
‘All of our good kids came through really strong,? said Coach Doug Kline.
Angel Erazo got a big pin wrestling at 130 pounds against the Lakers, Kline said.
He added that Andrew Carpenter beat one of their very good kids at the 171 pound class.
The Dragons then went on to beat Avondale 47-10.
Kline said both Curtis DeGeorge (135) and Adam Gros (160) performed well.
‘They both got big pins against Avondale,? he said.
Two days later, at the Owosso Invite, the Dragon wrestling team won with a score of 277 points.
‘That was a good tournament,? Kline said.
Despite tough competition from schools like Mt. Pleasant and St. John’s, the Dragons came out on top due to performances by Justin Ruddy (145), Evan Gros (189), Layne Upcott (215) and Tyler Benson, who wrestles heavyweight.
Now, the wrestlers are gearing up for the Oakland County Tournament held next weekend at Troy and Oxford high schools. .
