Sara Lieblein set a pair of school records, helping Oakland University’s women’s team to an eighth place finish at the Summit League indoor track and field championships, held Feb. 29-March 1 in Macomb, Illinois.
Lieblein, a sophomore and a 2006 Lake Orion High School grad, set the OU school records in both the 3000 meter and 5000 meter runs, placing sixth in both events.
Lieblein set a new personal record of 10:11 in the 3K. In the 5K, she bested her previous fastest time, set in high school, by 38 seconds. Her 5K time was 17:57.
She has broken the school record in the 3K three other times this season.
