Lake Orion boys basketball gets off to a rough start at 0-3

It’s been a tough start to the season for the Lake Orion boys varsity basketball team, with the Dragons dropping their first three games.
The Dragons lost 32-50 to Macomb Dakota (3-1) on Dec. 7 at the Rochester Showcase at Rochester High School in the MAC vs OAA challenge. Zack Parks led the Dragons scoring with 17 points, and Gabe Scott had 8 points.
Lake Orion, which plays in the OAA White division, lost 38-49 to OAA Red rival Clarkston (2-0) on Dec. 4. Leading scorers for the Dragons were senior Zack Parks with 12 points, senior Gabe Scott with 9 points and senior Nick Galben with 7 points.
The Dragons lost 46-48 to Rochester Adams (1-3) – another OAA Red team – in the Dragon’s home opener on Nov. 26.
The Dragons were scheduled to take on Birmingham Seaholm at home on Tuesday after Review press time in their first division game of the season. The OAA White includes Lake Orion, Seaholm, Troy, Troy Athens, Harper Woods, Oxford, Farmington and Oak Park.
Lake Orion’s next home is 7 p.m. Thursday against Canton High School (0-1) in a nonconference matchup. – J.N.
