The Varsity Girls Golf Team had a successful week, going 2-1 with victories over Clio and Imlay City.
The week ended on a sour note with a 197-224 loss at Kearsley on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Senior Anna Tomaka led the Wildcats with a 54. This loss came off consecutive victories over Cilo and Imaly City.
On Monday, August 31 the team competed in the Oakland County Division II tournament that was held at the Pontiac Municipal Golf Course. They finished 11 out of 19 teams, and Senior Taylor Holtshouser finished with a team low 98.
The girls defeated Cilo 209-223 on a soggy Friday afternoon. Senior Taylor Holtshouser led the way with a 48. On Thursday, Sept. 27, the girls defeated Imaly City 222-223. Junior Emilie DeFrain shot a team-leading 53, followed by Tomaka’s 55, Senior’s Kate Wolanin’s 56 and Susan Reynolds? 58.
The Wildcat’s next games are on back-to-back days against Lapeer West on Wednesday, Sept. 9 and Birmingham Groves High School on Thursday, Sept. 10.
