Oxford Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach Al Poynter has been stressing the need to play 32 complete minutes of basketball each game.
On Friday, Feb 20, the girls did just that in their 43-41 victory over Swartz Creek.
Senior Jessica Raisch hit a 15 foot jump shot with two seconds left to give the girls their tenth victory in Flint Metro League play. With the win, they now stand at 10-6 in the FML, and 10-8 overall.
Raisch finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
‘Our girls played with great energy defensively, and we moved the ball well against their box-and-1 and 1-2-2 zone defenses,? said Poynter.? ‘We executed well down the stretch and got 2 big baskets off of our out-of-bounds plays, including Jessica’s shot to win it for us.?
Juniors Megan Tilley and Allie Laidlaw each had six points and six rebounds for the Wildcats.
