Lady Cats go 2-1 for the week

After the Oxford girls? varsity basketball team lost 48-27 against Farmington Hills Harrison on Jan. 22, the Lady Cats got back on the winning track when they clawed Troy Athens 53-11 on Jan. 25.
Starting out slow with only leading by six points after the first quarter, Oxford outscored Athens 44 to 8 over the next three quarters.
The Lady Wildcats was led by senior Shelby Davis with 17 points. Senior Courtnee Sellers contributed 11 points, going 3-4 from 3 point range.
Miranda Murphy led the team in rebounds with 7.
The girl’s continued their streak when they returned to action on Monday, January 28 with a 44-23 win against Brandon.
The Lady Cats came our roaring in the first quarter with a 21-0 lead and never looked back.
Sophomore Jessica Murphy led the way for Oxford with 21 points. Brandon’s leading scorer was Katelyn Hendershott with 16.
The Wildcats return to OAA White Division action and their quest to capture a league title on Thursday night at Groves. The girls are 10-1 in the division and 12-2 overall in the season.
