Kickers proving tough to beat

The Lake Orion High School Varsity Boys Soccer Team now has a new winning record to go along with their new coach.
Since head coach Erick Pfeifer took over the team in early August, the Dragons have improved their play to pull towards the head of the pack in competitive OAA Division II soccer. On Sept. 16, the team hosted Waterford Mott and Lake Orion goal keeper Drew White recorded his fifth shut out in the net, as the team went 6-0 against the Corsairs.
Lake Orion senior Billy Weaver had four goals for the team, along with two assists. Teammates Philip Lawrence and Marc Thompson each had a goal to finish out the Dragon scoring.
On Sept. 17, the Dragons shut out Clarkston 3-0 in another home thriller. Weaver kicked in all three goals as White contributed seven saves in the net for the team.
Sept. 18, the Dragons traveled to Farmington to end the week on another winning note, 2-1 against North Farmington. Weaver had both goals in the game for his 30th and 31st of the year. Lake Orion ended the week with an 8-0-3, 5-0-2 record in OAA II.
The team traveled to Lahser High School on Sept. 23, and host Birmingham Groves on Thursday. The team hosts Seaholm on Sept. 30 and Andover on Oct. 2.
