Jubilee information you need to know

The 2005 Lake Orion Lion’s Club Jubilee will be in town beginning June 28-July 3. Downtown area village Streets will be closed to traffic starting at 6 a.m. June 28 for placement of the carnival rides. Downtown streets will reopen for vehicle traffic July 3 at noon. Use an alternate route in your commute to and from work to avoid traffic congestion.
The following public parking lots will be closed to public parking for the duration of the festival for carnival placement: The lower municipal parking lot located at Front and Anderson, next to Children’s Park, the parking lot next to the Lake Orion Veterinary Hospital and the parking lot next to The Orion Review.
The public property on both sides of M-24 from S. Broadway to Flint Street will be closed to all persons beginning at 8 a.m. on the day of the fireworks. This closure is to ensure adequate safe space to conduct the fireworks display.
The fireworks display is scheduled for July 2 at 10 p.m. from Green’s Park. The rain date is set for July 3 at 10 a.m.
Bellevue Island, Park Island and Pelton’s Point will be closed to non-resident vehicular traffic at 6 p.m. on July 2 by the Lake Orion Police Department.
Two-way traffic must be maintained for police and fire services at all times on all streets. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and may be towed. Parking is not allowed on paved streets unless otherwise marked.
