Jubilee dates set

This year the carnival rolls into downtown Lake Orion on June 29. After a day of setting up, it will open to the public June 30-July 3.
Village council members on April 26 OK’d some of the downtown streets be closed after a public hearing took place.
As in the past, the municipal parking lot by Children’s Park off South Broadway will be used to house the carnival workers and their campers. They’re expected to arrive on June 28.
According to LO Police Chief Jerry Narsh, due to the anticipated demolition and construction of the burned businesses on South Broadway, all construction in that area will stop during the Jubilee.
‘Depending on what faze the demolition and construction is at just prior to the setup of the carnival will determine what action will be required regarding the full or partial closing of the sidewalk from Broadway Records to Oldies Ice Cream,? Narsh added.
Campers, motorhomes and trucks that will be in the municipal lot will also have to be arranged to allow emergency vehicles access to all areas of the lot.
