The practice of joining the family business is hardly over.
Andrew DeHaan has joined his aunt, Deborah, at DeHaan Orthodontics on Baldwin Road just south of Waldon and so far he seems to be a perfect fit.
‘It’s been great so far,? said Andrew. ‘I’ve been here for six years as an assistant while I went to school and the combination of recent training and modern technology is something I can bring to the practice.?
Andrew graduated from Detroit Mercy after about nine years. He began his time at DeHaan Orthodontics as a boy, when he had braces installed there. During that time, he decided he enjoyed working with kids, who are a primary customer of the practice, and saw an opportunity to combine his love of problem solving with his want to help children.
The practice is open on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tues. and Thurs. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m., to 5 p.m.,and other days and times are occasionally available. For more information called 248-391-4477.
