The kids and their families had a Spook-tacular time this year at the special needs trunk or treat hosted by Mary Vellucci and the AU Special Needs Foundation.
“I was overwhelmed with all the love and support I received for this event. Our Lake Orion and Oxford communities are full of caring and generous people and I am blessed to be a part of the community,” Vellucci said.
People donated candy and goodies, businesses donated food, Plumbing by the Gas Guys attended with a truck full of pumpkins to hand out, LOHS students volunteered their time and neighborhood people, as well as the Knights of Columbus and Lions Club, were decorating cars and dressing up to hand out candy, Vellucci said.
“Our LOPD came out with cars lighting up the night. But the outpouring of love didn’t stop their. We had people drive up from Walled Lake, Farmington Hills, Wixom, and Livonia to do cars to help. I can not thank everyone enough. My events I do couldn’t happen with out their help. It truly takes a village!” Vellucci said.
