Hitters take on rivals Lake Orion this week

The Lady Wolves are anxious to get back on the field this week.
The Girls Varsity Softball team had a few days off since their back-to-back games last week against Carman-Ainsworth and Birmingham Seaholm.
Clarkston mercied Carman-Ainsworth during both games on May 4, scoring 15-0 and 11-0. They closed both games in four innings.
Sydney Hasselbach hit a home run in the 15-0 win. Megan Hastings hit a triple and Shauna Siwicki had to doubles, hit 3-for-3 and had four RBIs. Taylor Hasselbach hit 2-for-2 bringing in two RBIs and Liz Zezula had four RBIs.
The girls kept the hits going during the second game – Siwicki and Amanda Martic hit triples and Allie Reeves hit a double.
The next day brought a mix of victory and heartache as the girls split their double header games against Birmingham Seaholm.
They won their first game, 3-2.
Siwicki delivered the hit at the bottom of the eighth inning to bring a runner home for the win, she had two RBIs for the game.
Taylor Hasselbach and Zezula hit 2-for-3 and had one RBI.
‘Liz and Taylor had a great week,? Don Peters, head coach, noted.
Martin and Siwicki hit a triple. Siwicki hit a double.
They lost the second game by one point, 11-10.
‘We are still in good shape,? said Don Peters, head coach. ‘It was a tough game. We were ahead twice, then we lost. You can learn a lot from losing and we did. We recommitted our focus and our determination as we go forward.?
The girls still have their sights set on the OAA Red league championship and are ready to take it away from Troy – who shares the first place tie with Clarkston.
‘Our destiny is in front of us,? said Peters.
They play rivals at Lake Orion on Wednesday in a double header in a league match.
‘North Farmington and Lake Orion is right there behind us for the title,? said Peters.
Next on the schedule is hosting Stoney Creek on Monday, with Troy next Wednesday.
‘We are practicing hard and keeping our eyes on what we need to do going forward,? he added. ‘I coach a great group of girls. I like their attitude, their hustle and what needs to be done.?
All the games begin at 4:30 p.m., the second games against Lake Orion and Stoney Creek begin at 4:30 p.m.
