An assistant principal at Lake Orion High School will be hired for the next school year. Up until a year ago three associate principals helped principal Todd Dunckley. For the 2003-04 school year, that number was reduced to two.
According to LO School District Dr. Craig Younkman, the hiring of an assistant needs to be done because student enrollment will be 2,300 this fall.
According to Younkman, some assistant principals are currently working is other schools in the district. The high school’s new assistant would make less money that an associate principal.
