Students at Orion Oaks Elementary School used a portion of the proceeds raised by their annual Fun Run, held earlier this year, to help out Lighthouse of Oakland County. The school presented a check for $600 to Lighthouse CEO Noreen Keating in a special assembly on Nov. 19. Keating said the money will go towards purchasing emergency food, as Lighthouse had over 1,000 families coming in to get food in the past month.
