Lake Orion Thespian Society Troupe #2898 will be performing one of the most popular Broadway musicals of all time, ‘Hello, Dolly!?
‘Hello, Dolly!? is a story about a widowed matchmaker, Dolly Gallagher Levi, who travels to Yonkers, New York to visit Horace Vandergelder, a wealthy bachelor who has decided he needs a wife. Although she has already arranged a match between Vandergelder and a millineress Irene Molloy, Dolly decides she wants Vandergelder for herself. To make matters more complicated, she arranges for a match between Vandergelder’s two stock clerks and Molloy and her young shop assistant, Minnie Fay. A number of romantic entanglements soon follow, but through a little deception on Dolly’s part, everyone will find themselves paired with their perfect mate in the end.
The student cast and crew of over 70 people has been working on the production since January. The production is directed by high school teachers Deborah Fristad and Scott Boeneman.
The cast and crew will be performing at the Lake Orion High School Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 19, 20 and 21. The show begins at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the box office located in the main corridor of the high school. The cost to attend is $7 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults.
