Head to Toes Total Bodyworks in Oxford, formerly Head to Toes Massage in Lake Orion, is just the place if you’re looking to get a massage, pedicure, manicure or a hairstyle all in one stop.
Donna Walker, owner of Head to Toes and a resident of Oxford, said she moved from her small Lake Orion office to the 121 S. Washington St. building in July because her business had grown tremendously.
She also decided to expand from doing just massage, hence the addition of ‘total bodyworks? to the business name.
‘Now, it really is head to toes,? Walker said. Head to Toes is a multi-level oasis of pampering for anyone who’s had a stressful day.
The main floor of the 100-year-old, handicap accessible building has a comforting waiting room, one massage room, a room for their esthetician, as well as two styling stations for hair and makeup.
Downstairs you will find two relaxing foot bubble spas for pedicures and a cozy, quiet spot for a beautiful manicure.
On the second level, a peaceful massage room for couples or singles is available as well. Head to Toes is staffed with four experienced massage therapists, specializing in European, deep tissue, sports, medical and pre-natal massage.
Massages range anywhere from $45 for a 30 minute deep tissue massage to $120 for a hot stone massage.
‘Here, I encourage the therapists to keep their own styles and techniques,? Walker said. ‘I think allowing them to have their own technique adds variety.?
A highly trained esthetician is also on staff and offers skin treatments, like an oxygenation facial ($55), men’s facial ($50) and a Lightplex Balance treatment ($225).
Nail services include a spa manicure ($25), spa pedicure ($50) or full set of acrylics ($40).
Hair services range from $35 for women and $20 for men.
Walker said she also offers a salon and spa package called Girls Night Out where the building is closed and each party member can choose three different services at $140 per person.
‘A lot of brides are doing that instead of going to the bars,? she said.
Walker said she decided to get into the spa business after receiving many massages because of her own stressful job.
She would see people who were completely relieved of their pain after receiving a massage. ‘That’s when I started to get interested in massage and how it could help people,? she said.
Walker is glad her business has moved to Oxford because of the growth the area is experiencing.
‘I think Oxford is really growing and there’s a need for this kind of one-stop-shop,? she said. ‘Women are really busy now and don’t have time to go from one place to another. I don’t think anyone else in Oakland County does it the way we do it here.?
