Dear Editor,

First and Foremost we want to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank YOU!? to Joe & Julie Wojciechowski from Wojo’s Greenhouse for allowing us to host our event at their beautiful facility once again. We are so grateful for our nearly 100 volunteers and all

We also want to thank our entertainment-Wolfman Mac and Studio 8 Dance Team. A HUGE thank you to the businesses that donated gift baskets and/or their services. Please give them your business to thank them for their generosity to our youth & community:

There are sure to be nights for fun and fright at Wojo’s Greenhouse starting next weekend.

The St. Anne Youth Ministry will host the annual Haunted Forest at Wojo’s Greenhouse, 2570 Oakwood Road, this month.

“It’s our eighth year, we began with about ten scenes and I think we have closer to seventeen scenes now,” said St. Anne Youth Minister Kim Zernec, about how much the fundraiser has grown. “We’ve probably doubled scenes and customers have tripled.”

This year’s event is more than just a haunted forest. There’s a “Family Fun Center” with crafts, games, and face painting, and Wolfman Mac, host of “Wolfman Mac’s Chiller Drive-In” in Detroit, is joining the festivities on Oct. 22 from 7-9 p.m. to sign autographs and share some of his memorabilia. “I encourage everyone to come and support us,” said Zernec.

But the show doesn’t go on by itself.

“If it weren’t for the volunteers, especially George and Julie Graveldinger, it would not be possible,” said Zernec.

This year Zernec says that approximately 100 volunteers have agreed to participate.

The proceeds will benefit the youth ministry by providing funding for mission trips and other events. Last year’s haunted forest had a total profit of about $7,000, Zernec estimated.

The Haunted Forest will be held on Oct. 21, 22, 28, and 29 from 7-11 p.m. inside Wojo’s Greenhouse, 2570 Oakwood Road, Ortonville. The cost to attend is $10 for adults and $6 for youth, and concessions and raffles are additional. For more information, please contact Kim Zernec at 248-627-3965, ext. 132.
