The first year in the Oakland Activities Association might have been rough record wise for the varsity football team, but a few Wildcats made their presence felt on the field and left a lasting impact on opposing coaches.
Six Wildcats were named to the OAA White All-League team. Two were on offense, three on defense and one on special teams.
The two offense selections for Oxford were running back Darren Lumpkin and wide receiver Cody Collier.
Lumpkin gained 483 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in only four games, an average of just over 120 yards per game. Collier finished the season with 10 receptions for 113 yards.
Defensive All-League selections for the Wildcats were linebackers Prescott Line and Aaron Stuk and defensive back Clayton Spiker.
Line had 94 total tackles this season, including 10 tackes for loss and two sacks. Stuk recorded 54 tackles, eight of them behind the line of scrimmage.
Spiker had 19 tackles and two pass breakups for Oxford this year.
On special teams, punter Mike Kitchner was selected as the lone representative at the position.
This year, he averaged just over 33 yards per punt this season.
