Morning commuters traveling near Joslyn and Brown Roads in Orion Township might have been a bit late for work Friday, after a gravel hauler rolled over and forced the road to be closed.
The accident happened at about 8:30 a.m. on April 14, after a gravel hauler traveling northbound on Joslyn, just north of Brown, attempted to pass a turning vehicle by going onto the shoulder.
According to Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Bruce Naile, the hauler hit soft ground on the road’s shoulder, which led to the rollover. The accident forced a brief closure of Joslyn Road.
An OCSD deputy responding to the accident was involved in a minor collision as well. The deputy was making a U-turn, and collided with another vehicle.
Naile said only minor structural damage resulted, and no one was injured in either accident.
‘We had to block the roadway to get the truck upright,? Naile said. ‘The (gravel hauler) driver was wearing his seat belt, which is probably why he wasn’t injured.?
