Clarkston took the first, but certainly not the last, battle on the mat against Lake Orion last Wednesday in a quad-meet at Avondale.
The Dragons started day with a 54-12 victory over the hosts before the big OAA I showdown with their rivals. The defending league champs fell behind early, but clawed their way back to nip LO 34-26.
Winning twice on the day for the Dragons were Jeremy Peshl (145 pounds), Jake Varilek (152, including one pin), Joe Graffeo (160) and Justin Ruddy (130).
