Goodrich’s volleyball team found the going tough at the Flushing Varsity Invitational Saturday, Jan. 7.
The Martians won 1-3-1 at the tournament, and are now 3-4-3 overall. Goodrich’s lone win came against Owosso 25-22, 25-19, while the Martians lost to Waterford Kettering 23-25, 19-25; Mt. Morris 20-25, 16-25; and Flushing 25-21, 15-25, 8-15.
Goodrich also split with Port Huron Northern 19-25, 26-24.
Despite the subpar showing, the Martians had a bright spot in the form of senior Tara Garman, who was voted to the all-tournament team.
Garman was 28-of-36 serving for the tournament, with 10 aces and 27 digs. She was also 16-of-17 passing and 101-of-116 attacking with 46 kills and 19 blocks.
