Goodrich – On Monday morning several residents were evacuated near Hegel Road about one-half mile east of M-15 due to a natural gas release. Mary Gust, a spokesperson for Consumers Energy said excess pressure building in the gas line triggered the valve in a regulator station. “It operated as it was designed to do,” said Gust. “At no time was the public in danger.”
