Goodrich’s girls soccer team lost a tight contest against a perenially tough opponent April 19.
Visiting Frankenmuth scored three minutes into the second half to provide the game’s only scoring, defeating the Martians 1-0. Goodrich fell to 2-2-2 on the season with the loss.
‘We hit the bar three times,? Goodrich coach Nigel Barnett said. ‘We didn’t execute our game plan, looking back in hindsight. If you don’t do that, you don’t win.?
The Martians went 0-1-2 in an April 16 tournament at Lapeer East, losing to the Eagles 2-0 before tying Port Huron Northern 1-1 and Davison 0-0. Barnett said the Davision matchup, in particular, was ‘a good match? for the Martians.
Goodrich travels to Hemlock April 26 for a 4:30 contest.
