Getting rid of asbestos tile

Asbestos floor tile is being removed from Blanche Sims and Webber Elementary Schools.
Michigan Environmental Auditors were hired to do the work.
The tile was found in the two schools when carpeting was being replaced.
Michigan Environmental Auditors submitted a bid of $17,510 to do the work at Webber and $19,600 for Blanche Sims.
According to LO Building and Grounds Director, Lloyd English, the company has worked on all of the district’s prior abatement projects for the last nine years.
Funds to remove the floor tile is coming out of bond money.
