Ready to pamper your locks for the upcoming cold winter? Then make your way to the new Lulu’s Salon in Oxford to give your tresses a tune-up.
The salon, located at 119 S. Washington behind Head to Toes-Total Bodyworks, has a classy feel, with two work stations, hardwood floors, contemporary track-lighting and even XM satellite radio.
Although it’s only 200 square feet, owner and Clarkston resident Lindsay Bautel said Lulu’s is a ‘fun and cool place to get your hair done.?
‘I wanted something small, something cozy for clients to feel comfortable,? she said.
Bautel, and her stylist and best friend Emily Kettler, both worked at Sabrina’s Salon in downtown Oxford before deciding to branch out on their own.
Combined, they have 22 years of experience in the field.
‘I just love doing hair. It’s my passion,? Bautel said. ‘You truthfully have to love what you do to be successful.?
Lulu’s caters to both men, women and children for hair services like coloring, cuts, styling and waxing.
The salon uses SaHag and Aquage products, which are also for sale at the salon, along with handmade jewelry by a friend of Bautel’s.
A women’s haircut starts at $28, styling is $24 and updo’s are $45 and up. Highlights and lowlights will run you $50 and up.
A men’s haircut is priced at $24, and kid’s are $15. The salon also features rust removal treatments, deep conditioning treatments and will give complimentary styling lessons and bang trims.
Lulu’s is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 12-9 p.m., Friday 10-5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m., though Bautel said they can be ‘flexible.?
