Congratulations to Leonard Elementary fifth-grader Oksana Kurka, 10, for winning the school’s National Geographic Geography Bee last Wednesday. Out of 60 participants, Kurka won the bee with the question ‘Which state is home to Silicon Valley?? Kurka will now complete an exam with the hopes of becoming a state winner. By the way, the answer was California.
