Amid the slurry of recent charity races, the people of Genesys Home and Hospice Care asks you to strap on the running shoes once more for a good cause.
At 10 a.m. on Sept. 30, Genesys Home and Hospice care will host their sixth annual 5K run/walk on the Genesys Regional Health Park trails, on Genesys Parkway in Grand Blanc.
Proceeds from the event will enable Hospice, to buy patient care items and provide enhanced service.
Hospice is committed to caring for terminally ill patients at their home or the hospice care center, 7280 S. State Road in Goodrich,
‘It’s the only race that I am aware of that takes you through this kind of course,? said Al Cislo, director of marketing and chairman of the 5K race.
The course runs through the Mayapple and Heron nature trails on the health park’s 478 acres of woodland.
In addition to the 5K race, there will also be a 5K walk at 10:05 a.m. and a kids? one mile fitness run at 10:45 a.m., followed by an indoor kids? fitness fun run at 11 a.m.
Top three finishers in each adult age group receive awards, and all participants in kids? runs will get finishers? awards.
Participants may register at 8:30 on race day, or pre-register at www.active.com or www.genesys.org. Details: (810) 762-4488.
