The view behind Andersonville Elementary School is looking bright and prosperous.
The school recently received a new garden, donated by the family of Sue Cattin, former Andersonville kindergarten teacher.
The family left a $9,500 donation in Cattin’s memory for the creation of a garden for classroom instructional use. With the help of Andersonville staff, parents and volunteers, the garden is now complete.
The garden is used daily by classrooms for reading, writing and science lessons, not to mention a social gathering spot.
At the May 23 board of education meeting, members recognized the Cattin family with a dedication plaque.
