To help keep kids in Oxford busy and not bored over the summer, Parks and Rec. put together their Fun ‘N Sun Summer Camp, held weekly at Oxford Elementary until August 18.
Last Wednesday, dubbed Wacky Water Wednesday, featured a Slip-N-Slide and other water activities to help keep the kids cool on the hot day.
Other programs for kids include a minor league fantasy sports camp for children ages 6-8 from July 24-28, an all-sport training clinic for children ages 11-14 from July 31-4, and horseback riding day camps for ages 7 and up, Monday’Thursday until August 17.

Fun in the Sun!
With the end of the school year approaching and temperatures rising, students look forward to the outdoor activities of Field Day
Springfield Plains Elementary School celebrated its Field Day May 30 with games, contests, and activities, all outside in the sunshine.

At the word ‘go? the boys headed to the East and girls headed to the West in North Sashabaw Elementary’s annual Field Day on May 25.
The girls quickly captured the flags and ran back to their side were they sat down and were declared the winner.
The students also participated in other games following clues, filling water buckets and scooping treasures out of the grass.
The 2015 Splash Into Summer Party at Deer Lake Beach was a fun and free event for kids on June 9.
It was the last day of school and festivities at the beach were free after 3 p.m. The beach was full of groups of friends celebrating summer together, families enjoying the lake and adults soaking up the sun.

The Tigers of Pine Knob Elementary enjoyed the sunshine and various activities during their annual field day, May 30.
The activities included the sack races and bouncing ball races, jump roping, hula hooping, and shooting with a Nerf bow and arrow.
The students also had a choice of two inflatable obstacle courses for a chance to race their friends (repeatedly).
It’s not yet spring, but winter is giving ground, providing a day of warmth and sun this past Friday.
People took to Depot Park to enjoy the outdoors without bulky coats and sweaters for the first time after a long, cold winter.
