A 30-year-old Lapeer woman was arrested for possession of marijuana when police discovered the drug during a regular traffic stop for having a burned-out license plate light and an invalid sticker.

During a routine traffic stop of a 19-year-old Oxford male and 17-year-old Columbiaville female for speeding, Sheriff’s Deputy John Neph spotted what appeared to be a gun lying on the backseat of the car. The officer contained both individuals, and called in backup because of the possible weapon. The item turned out to be a BB gun and the male suspect had a packet of BBs in his pocket. The officer warned both youths about the dangers of driving with an item resembling a weapon out in the open. The BB gun was locked in the vehicle’s trunk and the youths were sent on their way.

A 32-year-old Oxford woman contacted police after she injured herself in a slip and fall that occured in the northwest quadrant municipal parking lot between Curves for Women and The Scrapping Post. Officers inspected the scene and found that the puddle the woman had parked beside and walked through had a layer of ice attached to the pavement approximately two inches below the water’s surface.

A 40-year-old Oxford Township man has been accused by a 32-year-old Rochester woman of assault. The woman claims the local man pushed her to the ground twice while she was trying to leave his apartment.
Over the weekend of December 20-22, unknown individuals broke into the construction site at the current Oxford Middle School. The construction company MCV, Inc. reported that several items were taken from a locked “gang box” tool storage locker at the site. One of the companies owners suspects a previous employee.

After driving to the Oxford substation to fill out a statement pertaining to another incident, a 40-year-old Oxford Township man was cited for driving with a suspended license.

A 35-year-old Oxford Township man and his wife claim that a 26-year-old Pontiac man assaulted them while they were having dinner at a friend’s home.

A 911 call from Maloney St. came in regarding a “bi-polar female getting crazy, family wants her committed.”
Employees at Starbucks Coffee called police because of an employee who was recently fired getting out of control. The employee left without any incident.
Thursday, January 9
After receiving reports about a couple possibly smoking marijuana in the southeast quadrant municipal parking lot, police arrested a 22-year-old Lake Orion man for violating a personal protection order (PPO). The man was in the parked vehicle with a 16-year-old Addison Twp. girl whose father filed the PPO. The Lake Orion resident was later cited for possession of marijuana.
Dispatch received a 911 call for a baby locked in a vehicle at Vacs Ventures Inc.
A mother on Somerville reported around 10:45 p.m. that her 14-year-old daughter had run away from home. The girl was later found at a friends house and returned to her home.
Friday, January 10
Neighbors called police because an E. Burdick St. resident was disturbing the peace with loud music. The resident turned down the music on his own without police contact.
A resident on W. Flint St. called dispatch because a “car full of kids was out threatening the homeowner.”
Police arrested a 33-year-old Oxford Township man after he supposedly struck a car stopped at the intersection of Seymour Lake and Baldwin roads, and then left the scene. The township man was later intercepted and stopped by village police. He was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of open intoxicants and refusal of chemical test.

A 48-year-old Tanview resident filed a minor property damage report after finding “someone had run over his mailbox, shrubs and a tree” during the night.

A Roxridge Court resident reported being threatened and harassed by a Clarkston man.
Sheriff’s deputies investigated a suspicious circumstance on Basket Branch where a home owner was found having difficulties breathing and with several visible wounds. After collecting the evidence, deputies determined the man had supposedly become intoxicated and fallen off his front porch.

After investigating a call from a Subway employee about a suspicious vehicle parking in the W. Burdick St. lot, police arrested the 20-year-old Oxford man sitting in the car for possession of marijuana.

After supposedly driving his truck into a snowbank by Louie’s Restaurant, a 41-year-old Leonard man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, having open intoxicants in his vehicle, resisting and obstructing a police officer and refusing a breathalizer test.
The owner of Ultimate Woodcrafters contacted deputies after learning that someone had tried to break into a took truck during the night.
A Lapeer Rd. apartment tenant filed a report accusing his landlord of assaulting him during an argument.

Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputy John Neph was tooling up M-24, near Ray Road when he looked over to the vehicle next to him, “swerving, almost hitting my patrol car.” The 47-year-old Lakeville woman was stopped and told Deputy Neph she had just taken the anxiety reducing medicine Xanax.

An elderly woman from Pontiac Street reported that somebody had stolen her snow shovel.
A Center Street mother reported that a school bus had run into her son’s basketball pole.

A 19-year-old Clarkston man admitted stealing two bottles of rum from a N. Lapeer Road store. His 18-year-old friend from Waterford admitted he was the lookout.
On N. Lapeer Road, a 34-year-old Attica man was arrested for driving his 1995 GMC under the influence of liquor.
A 17-year-old Oxford youth reported that his brown wallet, the driver’s license and 30 bucks inside were stolen from an unlocked locker on S. Lapeer Road.
On St. Andrews Street, over $5,000 worth of stuff was stolen from two vehicles parked at the same residence. From a 2003 Chevy Cargo Van, a $2,000 built-in plasma TV was stolen. And, from a 2004 Land Rover, over $3,400 worth of golf clubs and accessories were ripped off.

A 42-year-old male on Woodleigh Way reported that on March 21 he discovered his Honda lawn mower, Toro snow blower and three-ton floor jack missing from his garage. The man said there was no forced entry into the property since ‘the garage door is often left open.?

A 61-year-old resident on Lakesedge Dr. reported his Nike prescription sunglasses, Cobra detector, Nokia cell phone and four-port router cable stolen from his unlocked vehicle.

Male resident on Lakeville Court reported seeing an individual dumping on a vacant property.
Resident on W. Drahner Rd. contacted police after an ‘elderly female had wandered into his house, claiming that she’d been locked out of her house three doors down.? Deputies were able to return the woman to her son’s home and gain entry to the property through an unlocked rear door. The 75-year-old woman’s family was contacted for someone to return home.

A 21-year-old female resident in the Crawford St. apartments reported receiving threatening text messages and harassment from a 23-year-old female on Brentwood St.
A resident on W. Oakwood Rd. called 911 because someone was at his home ringing his doorbell.
Officers assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle that was partly blocking W. Burdick and Pontiac streets.

Good Deed – A female Oxford resident contacted police after finding several credit cards scattered along Drahner Rd. The good citizen turned the items over to police, who were able to contact the owner and return the lost items.

Friday, April 9
Resident on Woodleigh Way reported a suspicious circumstance after noticing a neighbor’s backdoor standing ajar while the family was away on vacation. Police determined the door was forced open.
The foreman of the Willow Pointe Subdivision construction site reported 100 gallons of diesel fuel stolen from the property. He also reported that several pieces of the company’s equipment had been spray painted with green paint.
A 43-year-old female on Mechanic St. reported receiving threats and harassment from her 40-year-old ex-boyfriend.
An Oxford Lakes Dr. resident reported a suspicious circumstance after hearing a bang and two voices cursing, and then seeing two individuals running between two homes toward the street. The caller was concerned the subjects were attempting to break into a neighbor’s home. Upon arrival, police were only able to find a trash can in the roadway.

Female resident on Indian Knolls reported receiving intimidation and threats from her ex-husband. When policed arrived to take a report, the sheriff’s deputy noticed two dead animals in the home’s driveway. One appeared to be deceased for about a week, the other only a day.
A 16-year-old Ortonville female filed a domestic assault report against her 17-year-old Oxford boyfriend. The young woman claims that the Sunset Blvd. juvenile grabbed, pushed and yelled at her while in Meijers.
Suspicious circumstance on W. Burdick St. turned out to be a homeowner who left the front door open.
A Broadway St. resident filed an animal complaint after a ‘loose neighbor’s dog came into his yard and attacked his dog.?

Employees at Collier Bowling Lanes reported minor property damage after several workers and patrons heard glass breaking and then found a broken window. No one saw the damage occur or anyone possibly responsible.

Suspicious person on N. Washington St. turned out to be an older white male going through garbage behind the businesses.
A W. Burdick St. apartment resident was asked by police to turn down the music after neighbors complained about the noise ‘disturbing the peace.?
Suspicious circumstance on Thornehill Trail turned out to be a group of individuals, appearing to be intoxicated, near the lake’s edge.
Police were contacted by Huntoon Funeral Home for assistance with an unwanted individual.

Tuesday, January 14
Two Oxford juveniles were taken into custody after a traffic stop on N. Washington St. led a police officer to discovering marijuana in their possession. The officer had stopped the youths for speeding when he noticed an odd smell coming from the vehicle. The two confessed to smoking marijuana and turned over a bag of the illegal substance to official.
A 55-year-old Oxford Lakes resident discovered that his identity may have been stolen by individuals who set up residential phone service in Detroit with his name and social security. The problem came to the man’s attention when he received an unpaid phone bill from SBC Ameritech for a number he did not recognize. After contacting SBC Ameritech officials, the man was advised to file a police report and fill out a fraud packet he would be receiving from the company.

Three tires of a 46-year-old Oxford man were slashed some time between midnight and 8 a.m. while his vehicle was parked in the South West parking lot.

Unusual Theft – A W. Burdick St. resident reported to police that “his license plate was stolen from his car.” Police have no suspects or leads at this time.

Sunday, January 19
Paintball vandals struck again when the truck of a 25-year-old Waterford male was hit twice on East Burdick St. near James Lumber. A second victim was struck that same night in the same location.

Emergency personnel assisted an Oxford man with a possible broken leg or ankle because of a slip and fall on N. Washington.
An individual contacted police because they “saw fire on a telephone pole” on N. Lapeer and Market.

A woman near Burdick and Washington “called and stated that she was being chased by a female and she was scared that this female was going to hurt her.” Police officers picked up the woman, took her to her home to retrieve some personal belongings and then left her at the Golden Nuggest where she awaited a ride.
Suspicious person on N. Washington – “Woman from this address called and stated that a man had come into her home and sat down on her couch. When she told him to leave, he went out the back door and stayed on the porch.” The caller described the man to police, and the authorities arrived to find the intoxicated individual sitting on the caller’s back porch. The man’s wife arrived quickly to collect him.

A truck was found in the southwest quadrant parking lot with the tailgate open and full of tools. Police secured the vehicle and contacted the owner who was working nearby.

n Two abandoned autos were found and tagged on Broadway.
n An abandoned auto on East was tagged for not having a valid license plate.
n An abandoned auto was found parked outside of a business on S. Washington “for a couple of days.”
n Two abandoned autos were found in the southeast quadrant parking lot.

A 12-year-old female at Crossroads for Youth was reported having assaulted workers with “hands, fists, feet.”
Police assisted a motorist on S. East Kit whose handicap van was stuck with a dead battery.

Two 15-year-old youths were found driving along Thomas Rd. without “operator’s licenses.” One was also found to be in possession of a marijuana pipe.
“An elderly man with a heavy accent called 911 in a panic that his roof and wall were leaking.” Authorities gave him a phone number for Montgomery & Sons, Inc. to get assistance.

Tuesday, February 11
Starbucks employees contacted police about a suspicious person who came in wearing a long black trench coat with a hood and sunglasses. The individual ordered a cup of coffee, and then when asked if he wanted anything else replied “Yes, the money in your drawer.” The employees stated that the man left saying “Did I scare you” and did not brandish a weapon or demand the funds.

Police responded to “family trouble” on Woodleigh Way when a woman called in and stated that her “16-year-old son was out of control. He threw a pillow at her.”

A 41-year-old Oxford man’s home was invaded and “change from a shoe box” stolen sometime between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.
An employee of the Shell station on M-24 received a threatening phone call from a 32-year-old Oxford man. The 22-year-old employee had been receiving the harassing phone calls from the man for about two weeks.

A 17-year-old resident on S. Washington was accused of domestic assault against his 46-year-old mother.
An employee of Art & Dick’s Party Store on W. Burdick reported to Oxford police that she thought she saw a man in the store resembling the composite circulated of the CVS Pharmacy burglar.

A resident on Chinkapin Rill called 911 after an unknown individual tried to enter her back door.

A caller reported a suspicious person wearing a red coat and a red hat either dropping off a blue Cavalier or taking something from the vehicle, which was parked on N. Washington Rd.

A Port-a-Potty located at a Fountain Crest construction site was damaged after workers saw an area resident strike it with his pick-up truck.

Family trouble at Island Lake Drive between a mother and her 16-year-old son.
An 18-year-old was arrested for his first offense of driving while under the influence of liquor and underage drinking. The original caller contacted police because a suspicious person was knocking at their door around 4:30 a.m. The youth had run his mother’s van off N. Coats Rd. and into a tree.

The landlord of the Crawford St. apartments called to report a tenant “she was evicting and has pulled phone wires out in the basement of another tenant.”
A suspicious vehicle was seen on East Drahner.
A Sterling Heights man filed a “Builder Trust Violation” report with police against Gemcraft Homes. The man claims he gave the company $150,000 to build his house on Manitou Lane and the project is still not finished. After doing some research, the man learned that three liens exist on the home to contractors. The Sterling Heights gentleman claims he has attempted to contact both the president and vice-president of the company, but has only been able to leave messages.
A 44-year-old Ray Road resident was receiving harassing phone calls between 12:15 and 2:00 p.m.

Wednesday, March 5
An accident at the intersection of E. Burdick and N. Glaspie streets occurred when a 51-year-old Oxford woman turned the corner onto E. Burdick and struck a 32-year-old Oxford woman traveling through the intersection.
Medical emergency at the intersection of Rochester and Romeo Roads.
The driver of a white truck on S. Washington St. was reported to be “cursing at a paper delivery man.” The caller stated the man “threatened to throw his paper boxes in the street.”
Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide incident on S. Baldwin St.
Emergency personnel assisted with a slip and fall medical emergency at the intersection of S. Washington and Crawford streets.
The owner of the Marathon Plaza on M-24 reported to the Sheriff’s substation that equipment was taken from the premises by a former renter whose business had gone bankrupt. The owner had court paperwork maintaining that the equipment was to remain in the building until court proceedings were completed.

Thursday, March 6
A co-owner of the company Complete Masonry Service & Repair reported to both the Oxford police and Oakland County Sheriff’s substation that his partner was attempting to steel money and customers from the business. The man claimed his partner started a separate company titled Complete Masonry Service, Inc. without his knowledge and was having customers write checks to the new name and depositing funds from the original company in an account under the new name.
Police stopped a conversion van the was traveling along N. Washington St. and then E. Burdick St. throwing rocks out the back window.
Medical personnel responded to a resident having difficulties breathing on Keith Street.
A Pontiac woman stopped into the Oxford Police Department to turn in a weapon her grandfather had given her and she did not want.

A group of individuals was seen trespassing on Oxford Lakes near Baypointe Drive around 1:00 p.m.

Sunday, March 9
A Pontiac Street resident contacted police when a husband and wife were reported disturbing the peace over a set of car keys.
A 24-year-old S. Washington St. resident accused her 37-year-old neighbor in the next apartment of attempting to assault her while she was in his home to borrow some aspirin.
Medical personnel investigated a possible medical emergency on Frick Road.
Police found a 22-year-old male who was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor after the young driver had stopped in the middle of Seymour Lake Road so that his passenger could vomit.
Police were called to Parker Lake Rd. where a wife accused her husband of domestic assault.
A 30-year-old Hunters Rill resident reported his cell phone missing to police.
A young female on Lakeshore Circle called 911 “and was screaming and yelling that her dad was beating her mother.” The girl hung up when the call was transferred.
Residents on Lakes Edge Drive complained of a loud car parked in a neighbor’s driveway around 1:30 a.m. Police found the owner trying the dislodge the vehicle, which was stuck in a snow drift.

Monday, March 10
A Brookside Court resident called 911 to report that her 16-year-old son had run away. The juvenile was returned home later that day after staying at his uncle’s house.
An abandoned vehicle was found on West Street.
Suspicious circumstance – a female resident on Lafayette St. reported that “an unknown person hacked into their computer accessing their AOL account info.”
Medical emergency on Mack Road.
A mother on Thomas Street called 911 when her “15-month-old had a Leggo stuck in mouth.” The mother was able to dislodge the toy and the youth was fine.
A concerned resident on N. Washington St. contacted police after seeing a child screaming in a neighbor’s backyard and a man dragging the girl into the home. The caller “would like the home checked for abuse.”

Tuesday, March 11
An Oxford Township man reported that several of his work vehicles, parked at a construction site in Waterstone, were “peppered with white paint” by another contractor.
Fire personnel responded to an alarm on Frick Road.
A 45-year-old Baldwin Road resident accused his 18-year-old nephew of steeling his snow blower and power washer from his garage.

Wednesday, March 12
Emergency personnel cared for a 43-year-old intoxicated man who was found lying on the ground at the intersection of Lafayette and Polyann Trail.
A caller reported a tan Dodge minivan driving erratically along N. Washington Street at 7:34 a.m.
A female tenant on Dennison reported that her landlord was looking into her windows and had entered her apartment.

Thursday, March 13
A “man and woman called from a cell to advise that a black Dodge Shadow was driving possibly drunk” along Pontiac and Park streets. The responded officer learned that the vehicle was having a mechanical problem.
Sheriff’s deputies cited an individual acting disorderly at the Shell Gas Station on S. Lapeer Road.

Friday, March 14
A suspicious person was seen walking along Lakeville and Glaspie roads.
A 36-year-old Oxford man was arrested at Collier Lanes for giving a 13-year-old a drink of alcohol from a styrofoam cup.

An Oxford officer stopped some children who were recklessly riding their bikes in between parked cars on S. Washington.
A 38-year-old Oxford Township woman has been receiving harassing phone e-mails from her ex-boyfriend, who lives in Rochester.

Saturday, March 15
Traffic on northbound Washington St. was blocked around 3:15 p.m. when a Chevy Blazer broke down in the slow lane just south of Sunoco.

A black convertible, with the top down, was seen driving recklessly in the southeast quadrant parking lot around 7:55 p.m.
Around 10:30 p.m., residents on Chapman Branch complained of a neighbor “disturbing the peace” with loud music.

Witnesses reported a suspicious circumstance when a white van was spotted backed up to the doors of Art & Dick’s Party Store with the rear doors open. The van was gone when police arrived and several stacks of newspapers remained on the ground.

Oxford police received a report that several vehicles at Clean Cars & Trucks on S. Washington St. were broken into and numerous items were stolen including stereo equipment. Police will be patrolling the area extra due to other break-ins.
Medical personnel assisted a resident in Independence Village who was having a heart problem.

Tuesday, March 18
A Hovey St. woman called police and stated “that someone was on her porch and picked something up off the porch and threw it at the house.” Police arrived but were unable to locate any suspects.

Around 8:45 a.m. an elderly subject was seen hanging around Curves in downtown Oxford for more than 30 minutes. Police contacted the man, who said he lived above the business.

A 47-year-old Dayton St. resident was cited for having at least two or more commercial vehicles parked either in his residential driveway or on the street.

A group of juveniles were reported “smoking marijuana” behind the Oxford 7 Cinemas. The situation was determined “unfounded.”

Emergency personnel assisted when a student at Lakeville Elementary fell off some playground equipment and got the wind knocked out of him.

Staff from Crossroads for Youth reported that three female residents had “assaulted with hands/fists/feet” a 16-year-old resident of the facility.

A 20-year-old S. Lapeer Rd. resident told police that she has been receiving repeated threats and harassment from her ex-boyfriend.

Employees of the Shell Gas Station reported that at approximately 7:45 p.m. an unidentified individual drove away without paying for 8.48 gallons of gasoline. The person drove a white car with Mississippi license plates.

East St. residents complained of a neighbor disturbing the peace with loud music.
A Lincoln St. resident reported “a group of kids laying in the street and on the sidewalk in front of her address.” Police contacted the loitering youths and directed them to leave.
On Crawford St. around 1:30 p.m., a suspicious person was seen “walking around the pond area picking up unknown objects.” Police determined the individual was collecting golf balls with a fishing rod.

A 37-year-old Oxford Township man’s Dodge Ram was stolen from the Meijer parking lot while he was working inside.

Police were contacted to help control a 21-year-old man on Tanview Road who was intoxicated and in the presence of minors. Officials cited the resident for simple assault and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Seymour Lake Park was once again vandalized this weekend when the supervisor found that two exterior steel drinking fountains had been torn off the north wall of the softball concession stands and some exterior utility boxes were damaged. This is the second time the park has been vandalized this month.

Officials contacted Selfridge Air Force base and had a munitions expert come over to investigate the object. The final assessment determined the WWII artifact as a ‘paperweight.?

A caller reported a group of juveniles who had entered an ‘unassembled? manufactured home on Maynard Circle.
Residents on East St. complained of a neighbor disturbing the peace with loud music.

Thursday, April 10
A 43-year-old Horner Rd. man committed suicide in his garage with a 12-gauge shot gun after having an argument with his wife. According to the Sheriff’s report, the deceased’s wife had just told him she wanted a divorce when he began threatening suicide. The police were notified at 10:27 p.m. and Deputies Forest and Myers responded. Deputy Forest stated in the report that after arriving at the scene he observed two women standing in the front yard and shortly after he heard what sounded like a shotgun go off. The officers found the deceased on the garage floor.

A N. Glaspie mother reported to police that a friend of her son’s may have stolen two cartons of cigarettes from her freezer the day before.
An elderly Oxford man was caught placing branches in the dumpster behind the veteran’s hall around 2:20 in the afternoon.

An Oxford Township woman parked in the Meijer parking lot got a surprise when she returned to her car to find an unknown man sitting in the front seat. He had been trying to steal her cell phone and radar detector.

Around 1:30 a.m., Oxford police found an intoxicated individual slumped over the steering wheel of his car. The vehicle was parked in the southwest quadrant parking lot.

Police arrested a 40-year-old Oxford man for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor after an Oxford woman called on her cell phone from the village police department parking lot for help. The woman stated that she became afraid after the man had been following her all the way into Oxford honking his horn and tailgating.
Juvenile Complaint 1 – Caller reported ‘two small boys fighting – one pushed the other into traffic? on N. Washington and Church streets.
A Hovey St. resident called to complain because the garbage trucks are coming through noisily at 3 a.m.

Police received a call around 12:30 p.m. from a Thornehill Trail resident about the dog next door that gets out at night and ‘ripped up the trash.?
A 29-year-old Yale Rd. female attempted suicide between 4:00 and 7:25 p.m. by taking an overdose of pills.
Witnesses reported seeing a red tractor traveling down M-24 that was losing part of the timber it was carrying on the roadway.
Residents in Oxford Lakes complained of an ongoing problem with a black lab running the area.
Juvenile Complaint 2 – Caller reported children playing unsupervised in the village police department lot. The children ‘were climbing in the trunk of the vehicle.? Police learned the father was in a meeting at the building.
Several S. Coats residents reported damage to their personal property – everything from homes to vehicles. One report stated that damage appeared to have been done by a paintball gun or other type of propellent such as a pellet gun or sling shot.

An Oxford-Orion Plumbing, Heating and Cooling employee was bit by a neighboring dog. The dog’s owner agreed to shorten the animal’s leash.

Witnesses reported a suspicious person on S. Washington: ‘Male seen going into the side door of the bank.? The man turned out to be with two individuals who are the night cleaning crew.
A Maynard Circle resident reported that someone threw a large rock through the rear window of her car sometime during the night.
A Hunter’s Rill resident reported that the back windows of his mother-in-law’s van were broken out around 3:34 a.m.
Service Request – Parkside Dairy agreed to turn off a strobe light that runs during the night after learning that an employee at a nearby business has seizures.
An unknown caller reported nine windows broken out of the Oxford High School media center.
A 9-year-old on Trillium Trail found that his bicycle had been stolen from the deck of his home.

A Keith St. resident called 911 when he witnessed his son get into his brother-in-law’s truck. The caller believed the brother-in-law had been drinking.

A 70-year-old Moyer St. resident told police he was confronted at his home by two juveniles threatening to beat up his 17-year-old grandson. The elderly gentleman also informed police that he has been receiving threatening phone calls from the same individuals, again claiming they are going to harm his grandson.
At 1:05 in the morning, an Oxford Lakes man ‘called and stated that there was someone outside throwing objects at his home.?
An area resident came in to the Oxford Police Department on the advice of his attorney to report several threats he has been receiving from his estranged wife and her family.
An officer stopped two Oxford youths on Wynnwood Drive and found one to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and the other to have tobacco products. The youth with tobacco products also harassed the officer, though no citations or charges were issued.

Emergency personnel responded to a call for a resident on Dunlap Circle with abdominal pain.
A resident required medical attention after a slip and fall on E. Drahner Rd.
Oxford DPW workers discovered that an unknown individual has been living in the basement of a vacant house owned by the village. Police found sleeping bags, magazines and full ash trays, as well as a broken basement window.

A W. Drahner Rd. resident called 911 when she thought she heard someone trying to get into her home around 4:30 in the morning.
A 19-year-old Oxford Township youth reported that his Playstation and several accessories were stolen from his bedroom while he was away. The youth told police that his brother always left the family’s home unlocked and he suspects a couple of his brother’s friends took the items.

Friday, May 2
The Oxford Veterinary Hospital received minor property damage when an unknown individual threw a beer bottle through the north side of the building. A window was broken out and some of the siding was cracked.
Workers assisted a Lakeville Rd. resident who was having difficulties breathing.

Oxford police responded to a building alarm from the Oxford Area Community Schools administrative building at 11:50 p.m. Officers at the building did not find any signs of forced entry.
A utility pole fire on Lakeville Rd. left many area residents without power after 2:50 a.m. The primary line was down and DTE Energy was contacted.

A Lakeville Court resident, concerned about the welfare of her children, called police to report three vicious dogs running loose in the neighborhood.

911 received a call around 7:00 p.m. from a N. Glaspie resident looking for assistance in serving her ‘soon-to-be exhusband? with a Personal Protection Order (PPO).
Medical personnel assisted an elderly female on Shummard Branch who was feeling ill.
Residents reported a 9-year-old driving an ATV around Woodleigh Way and Oxford Lakes roads.
This past Tuesday’s storms brought down an electrical wire on top of an E. Burdick St. resident’s garage. The wire did not cause a fire and DTE Energy was notified.
Addison Township firefighters investigated a possible fire at the intersection of Elmwood and Forest roads.
Drivers along Baldwin Rd. reported seeing smoke from between two homes around 7:30 p.m. Investigators found the smoking site to be an area where lightening had struck a field between the two houses.
Neighborhood hit by vandals – A John Paul Court resident called police because her vehicle was spray painted with green and orange paint sometime during the night. Later the same day, a 28-year-old Squaw Lagoon resident reported that her white picket fence was spray painted with the same colors. Both situations involved similar phrases and gang symbols.

A Cottage St. resident reported two bike’s stolen from his front yard on the day before.
A Worthington St. woman contacted police ‘and stated that there is a Personal Protection Order out on the female that is banging on her window.?
The Parks and Rec Department got an unusual visitor around 11:30 a.m. when a ‘rather large dog? wondered into their building.
While patrolling East St. for a suspicious persons call, an officer found ?17-year-olds with a cigarette at this location and sent them on their way.?
A Delano Rd. resident discovered that someone was attempting to use her identity to purchase merchandise when a company contacted her to verify information. The woman learned that an unknown individual had tried to purchase exercise equipment and a Dell computer under her name.

An Oxford resident reported that her husband is violating a Personal Protection Order against him by calling and harassing her at work.
An Oxford resident told police that while she ‘was out walking her small dogs,? when a vicious shepherd, whose owners live on Abingdon St., attacked one of her dogs. The resident said that this has been an ongoing problem.

Thursday, May 15
Deputies were called out to investigate a break-in at the Oxford Hills Golf Course. According to the report, a shed containing pop was broken into and an undetermined amount of pop was taken. Golf course owners told authorities this was not the first time the shed had been broken into.

Friday, May 16
A suspicious person on Hudson St. turned out to be an intoxicated Hunters Creek resident arguing with himself.
A 41-year-old Akram Rd. resident reported to police that she had received threats and intimidating phone calls on May 13 on her cell phone. The woman believes the caller may have been her deceased brother’s ex-girlfriend.
A concerned citizen called 911 after spotting a man leaning against the Oxford 7 Cinemas building who appeared to be having difficulties breathing.
An East St. resident called in to report that a neighbor was sleeping on his own front lawn.

Saturday, May 17
A non-functioning headlight led to the arrest of an Oxford man for operating a vehicle while under the influence of liquor. An Oxford village police officer pulled the vehicle over on Washington St. for the headlight when he noticed that the 36-year-old driver was intoxicated. The officer arrested the individual after a breathalizer was given.
Also in the same incident, village officers cited a 27-year-old Oxford female for resisting and obstructing a police officer. While investigating the previously mentioned vehicle, an Oxford officer noticed a pocket knife laying beside the woman on the seat. He requested for the passenger to exit the vehicle and she refused, at which time the officer removed her from the car. Police took the knife as evidence and cited the woman.
A Burdick St. resident came into the police station for ‘some advice about his son living with his ex-wife.?
Around 3:10 p.m. an Oxford resident called in to complain of kids on scooters and go cats riding in the roadway at the intersection of Lakes Edge and Oxford Lakes Drives.
At 1:30 in the morning, an Overland Dr. resident heard something hitting his house and discovered that paintballs had hit his home. The shots had damaged a screen window. The resident believes his neighbors may have been involved in the incident.
Several Oxford Lakes parents were contacted by police after a group of juveniles was spotted starting a fire in a grill at the park. ‘It was discovered they had removed shingles off a gazebo roof to start the fire.?

Sunday, May 18
A caller from Poppyhill reported ‘kids running around in the street possibly intoxicated.?
A 38-year-old Metamora Rd. man discovered that $3,200 had been stolen from a safe he kept hidden in his walk-in closet. The man said there was no forced entry into his home, but the lock on the safe had been broken.
Woodleigh Way residents had to make restitution with a neighbor after their dog got loose and chewed away a screen at the neighbor’s home.
On N. Oxford Rd., a farm owner filed a complaint with deputies about a Cobblestone Rd. resident’s dog continually coming onto her property, harassing her livestock, killing her chickens and even biting members of her family.

Neighbors on Chari Court contacted police after seeing a 31-year-old female and 34-year-old male having a family dispute in their front yard.
A Melana Court resident reported that her credit card had been used without her permission. The person using the card had attempted to buy something online at Target.com with incorrect address and phone number information.
Crossroads for Youth reported a two runaways: a 15-year-old female and a 15-year-old male.
A resident reported several abandoned autos on N. Washington St. ‘There are a few cars in the lot that have been there for a few days. Some have flat tires.? The caller wanted to vehicles removed.

Police found a suspicious vehicle with the trunk left open in the southwest quadrant parking lot around 5:45 a.m.
At 9:21 a.m. in the Oxford Police Station, a ‘woman came in for a request to have a police officer tell a male in the vehicle to wear his seat belt.?
A 13-year-old male at Crossroads for Youth was petitioned with felonious assault – other weapon after he struck another 13-year-old resident with a phone cord.
Crossroads for Youth reported a 17-year-old male truant/runaway. According to the police report he ‘was there for less than a day and ran away.?

An E. Burdick St. resident came into the Oxford Police Station to report kids throwing candy at her window the day before.
Staff members at Crossroads for youth called in police around 7:45 p.m. after a 14-year-old male became out of control and began hitting a Crossroads for Youth bus with an aluminum baseball bat. The bus did receive damage and the youth was petitioned with minor damage of property.
Around the same time, police petitioned a 13-year-old Crossroads for Youth male with assault and battery after he had a verbal and then physical altercation with a staff member.
Residents complained about a ‘blasting stereo at the Frosty Boys.?
A caller reported that there are orange cones all over the roadway causing a traffic hazard around the N. Washington and E. Burdick St. intersection.
A Crestwood resident called 911 at 4:53 p.m. to report an uncontrollable teen.

A Ferndale man lost his wallet while working at Scripter Park between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Police investigated a suspicious circumstance after an Oxford Tap employee called in regarding ‘some food that was brought in to her by a customer.?
A 911 call came in at 10:30 p.m. from the Venture Group Home on Indian Lake Rd. A staff member told police the ‘mentally ill subject was not getting along with staff.?
Crossroads for Youth reported a 15-year-old male runaway around 8:50 p.m.
A resident on Davison ‘thought he heard a gunshot and saw a flash in the white house on the corner.? His neighbors reported hearing the same thing. Police investigated the suspicious situation and confirmed that everyone was fine.

Saturday, May 24
A 54-year-old Oxford man lost his wallet sometime while attending a movie at the Oxford 7 Cinemas.
Authorities caught ‘three juveniles out past curfew? at 1:11 a.m. at the intersection of W. Burdick and Conda. The youths were brought to the station where their parents were contacted.
Sheriff’s deputies charged an area man with child endangerment and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of narcotics after he was pulled over for driving erratically down southbound Lapeer Rd. near the Oxford substation. According to the police report, the deputy pulled the gentleman over and found the man’s 2-year-old son sitting in the front seat without a seat belt or child safety seat. The officer had the gentleman pull into the substation parking lot and come into the station. After contacting the man’s wife and mother, the deputy learned he was addicted to prescription medications. The gentleman was charged and placed into custody.
A suspicious circumstance on Lincoln St. turned out to be a backhoe with the lights left on in Oxford Veterinary Hospital parking lot.

Residents living around East St. and Glaspie complained about a dog running loose in the neighborhood. Police captured the animal and returned it home.
A caller reported ‘two black males on vehicle. One has a green jacket,? at Ed’s Sunoco Service. The police found nothing strange with the ‘suspicious persons? report.
Police responded to a commercial alarm on Glaspie St. The officer responding found nothing out of place.
Oxford Village police assisted the fire department with a female on Pleasant St. having difficulties breathing.

A suspicious vehicle, with the windows blacked out, was seen parked on Thornehill Trail at 3:34 a.m. Police found a man sleeping in the back seat.
Dispatch received a report about a suspicious person on Louck and East streets.
A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked partially in the roadway on Glaspie and Powell around 10:45 p.m.
A 32-year-old female resident on Chinkapin Rill called in to have a 69-year-old man arrested for violating an injuctive order that does not allow him on her premises or to have contact with her.
A Tanview resident reported his 14-year-old daughter missing.

Tuesday, June 10
Authorities found a subject sleeping in a green Saturn in the southwest quadrant parking lot around 10:29 a.m.
Police received a call about a white Jimmy parked behind Art & Dick’s Party Store with people sitting in it smoking. Police investigated and found nothing illegal going happening.
During a traffic stop at the intersection of E. Burdick and Glaspie, police discovered that the youth driving did not have a license, and had never acquired a license. Authorities drove the teen to his parent’s home in Oxford Lakes and impounded the car.
Two female youths were caught carving their names into a wooden post on the mailbox cover in Lake Villa Mobile Home Park. The report states that park managers want the two girls? families to pay $700 in damages.

Wednesday, June 11
Police found an unknown, intoxicated female walking the street near E. Burdick and Mill. She refused to give her name.
A First St. woman called in to complain that there was a little white dog running loose in the roadway.
Identity Theft – A 28-year-old Oxford Township man learned that someone else has been using his identity to purchase a Bowflex when a credit company contacted him about the overdue bills. The man informed the sheriff’s department that he has had previous problems with identity theft. Several of the accounts use a River Rouge, Mich. address.
Neighbor trouble between a 35-year-old Malena Road man and a Saunders Rd. resident.
Callers reported a truck traveling along W. Burdick and then turning onto N. Washington Rd. leaking diesel fuel in the area. Authorities investigated the small spill left behind and determined it was not a danger.
A Dayton St. resident complained of two suspicious men in the woods behind his home. The resident said they were intoxicated and yelling. Police contacted the individuals, removed them from the area and instructed them that they would be cited if they returned.

Thursday, June 12
At 2:00 a.m., residents on Center St. complained of loud music.
Police responded to a call about three youths using a skateboard ramp in the northeast quadrant parking lot.
A 64-year-old Hunters Rill resident reported she has been receiving harassment from the sister of the MS patient she has been looking after. The sister of the patient wants the woman to live with her instead of the Oxford Township caregiver.
The staff at Venturewood Group Home reported to deputies that a 42-year-old resident had walked away from the home around 8:00 p.m. and is missing. The staff said the man is a possible danger to himself and others.

A Lincoln St. resident called police for assistance after finding an injured possum laying in her front yard.
Residents on Oxford Lakes Dr. and Leighton Lane complained about a yellow van occupied by several students racing through the area.
A caller reported a blue pick-up, with Kelly Contracting and Landscaping on the door, driving erratically down Pleasant St.
An East St. man reported seeing a juvenile playing with a possible pistol. Police located the youth and found he was playing with a paper gun painted black.
Neighbors on Stanton St. complained about noise from one of the residents.

Saturday, June 14
An abandoned auto was found on N. Washington Rd.
Stanton St. neighbors complained about a resident disturbing the peace with music all day.
An employee of Heckle & Jeckle’s Party Stop reported that a male, wearing a sweat suit, had stolen two packs of cigarettes and then left the store heading in the direction of the dentist’s office. Witnesses saw the individual get into a black vehicle and leave.
Sheriff’s deputies filed a report for a 28-year-old Harwood Dr. woman who has been receiving harassing phone calls from her ex-boyfriend.

A female supervisor at Starbucks requested to be escorted by police to her car after being threatened earlier in the day by an employee.

Sunday, June 15
A suspicious vehicle seen leaving Oxford Elementary’s parking lot turned out to be a group of residents picking up several other cars after car pooling to a baseball game.
Civil Matter – A First Street resident reported that his wife was stealing his van out of his driveway around 6:20 a.m.
A Dennison St. resident has complained to village police multiple times about the parking problem he is having with the church next door. The resident reported that on this day there was yet another vehicle in his yard.
Civil Matter – Oxford police were busy for a couple hours due to several calls on a dispute between two roommates in the East St. apartments. On their second trip to the residence, authorities informed both parties that someone would be arrested if the department received another call.

A suspicious vehicle found in the Oxford Bank parking lot around 2:33 a.m. turned out to be a man ‘finishing up an ATM transaction and balancing his checkbook.?
A woman on Glaspie called the Oxford Village Police to report that her husband had not returned their children from his weekend visitation.
Around 9:30 a.m., a 1993 Dodge Caravan struck a vehicle parked on Hudson Street.
Construction workers on Pearl Street complained to authorities about an area resident who is continually driving a black van carelessly through the construction zone.
Police assisted a lifeguard at Scripter Beach with removing a subject who had been asked to leave for disorderly conduct.
A Sunset Blvd. resident contacted police after seeing a green car removing plywood form a home construction site around 3:45 in the afternoon.
A caller reported a bunch of teens in Scripter Park out of control, throwing rocks and swearing. Police arrived on the scene and moved the youths along.
Identity Theft – A 54-year-old Indian Lake Road woman learned that someone had been using her identity when she received a call from a collection agency for $876.15 in charges through Avon. The items ordered where delivered to a Detroit address.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested after a traffic stop on N. Washington Street. The woman, it was found, had a felony warrant out on her for breaking and entering and malicious destruction of property in Dryden.

Wednesday, June 18

Felonious assault with a baseball bat – Around 5:30 in the morning, a 25-year-old Sebek Street main heard some banging outside. Upon investigation, he saw a brown Saturn with teen males inside — banging mailboxes with baseball bats. Then the Saturn knocked over a mail box. The man followed the car and confronted the youths at Squaw Lake. One of the males threatened to hit the man with a baseball bat. The man called Oakland County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies tracked the vehicle to Lakesview Drive. When they spoke to the 18-year-old male he said he was ‘too drunk to remember anything.?

A woman from Seymour Lake Road reported somebody had broken into her home and stolen a jewelry box with $300 worth of jewelry.
A $150 CB radio was stolen from a 1996 Chevy S-10 pickup truck on East Street.
A stereo was stolen from a 1993 GMC Sierra parked on Overland.
A cell phone, day planner and US Passport were stolen from a Dodge Neon parked on Thomas Road.
On Ottawa Trail, two black suit cases, containing women’s clothing and paperwork were found. The suitcases were reported stolen three days before.
On E. Manor, a man heard noises outside his girl friend’s residence. When he went out to investigate he saw two white teen males by a pickup truck with the doors open. When he asked if that was their truck they ran away.

Oxford Police received a 9-11 call from a N. Washington Street woman. She called because someone had been knocking on her back door. Police searched the grounds and found nobody.

Residents of Glaspie Street called when they heard yelling and screaming coming from Scriptor Park well after closing time. Police encountered two teen males and two teen females. All were released to their parents.
Around 5 p.m. a man walked to the Oxford Village Police station and turned himself in for indecent exposure, even though, as the report states, ‘there was no evidence to support claim.?

At Stony Lake Park, a wedding band worth $550 was stolen from a pickup truck. A witness reported seeing a white male, between 15-18 years old, with short brown hair, wearing a dark bathing suit going through the vehicle.

Monday, June 23
A suspicious blue Ford Escort reported on S. Washington Street around 4 a.m.
Parking complaint on Dennison Street.
A 46-year-old man was arrested on N. Washington Street for a warrant that was issued out of Genesee County — the man, it was reported, owed $5,953 to the Friend of the Court. He was transported to the Oakland County Jail, and latter to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital for chest pains.
A Woodbridge Street woman returned to her home in the afternoon to find someone had tried to break in — Oxford Police found evidence that somebody had tried to gain entry through a garage door.
Oxford Police nabbed two male teenagers who were on top of the Pontiac Street school. The lads were handed over to their parents. Two teenaged gals who where with the lads ‘eluded? police.
Around 11 p.m. on Woodleigh Way, fireworks complaints.
Report Follow-up — a previous report of ‘speeding in a construction zone? by a ‘black van? have been labeled unfounded by Oxford Police. The owner of the black van denied the charge, which was levied by a construction worker.

Wednesday, July 2
A Clarkston man returned to his vehicle, parked in the southeast quadrant lot, after heading towards the Oxford Tap. The man had seen two youths eyeing his truck suspiciously. When he got back to the vehicle, 60 CDs, a video camera, a watch and $20 in cash had been stolen.
Police received a call from a 37-year-old N. Oxford Rd. woman after she had a suspicious run in with a man at the Meijer gas station. According to the woman, the man approached her and began to ask questions about horses. The Oxford woman chatted about the topic until she left to pay her bill. The man, who told her he was working at the Oxford Middle School construction site, was waiting for the woman at her vehicle when she returned from the shop. At this point, the woman says he ‘asked if she lived on N. Oxford Rd,? and looked her up and down. Feeling very uncomfortable with the man, and the fact that he knew where she lived, the woman left the station and contacted police.

A 31-year-old County View Dr. resident reported that someone stole a CD case with 175 CDs in it from his vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies issued a 37-year-old Lakesview woman for being a disorderly person after visiting her home twice on complaints. Authorities arrived at the Oxford Township resident’s home to first investigate a noise complaint. After warning the woman that she would be cited if they returned, the officers were driving away when they saw fireworks come from the home’s yard. Upon returning, they found a box of used fireworks along the road and an angry neighbor ready to call police again.

A 27-year-old man was “placed in cuffs” after a deputy saw him smash the front of an Automatic Teller Machine at a S. Lapeer Road bank. The man admitted it wasn’t “the smartest” thing he’d ever done, but the machine would not give his card back. The bank is pressing charges.

Friday, October 17
Minor personal damage accident (PDA) on Washington Street at East. No injuries, and an 18 year old Oxford man was cited for “impeding traffic.”
Somebody in the neighborhood of Pleasant Street was “shooting off M-80s.”
A 25-year-old man pulled over for wrong license plate tags, was arrested and charged with being in possession of marijuana, driving even though his license was suspended and for having two cannisters of “pepper spray.”

Saturday, October 18
On N. Washington Street, a person called police to report they heard someone fall then cry for help. Police investigated and all was okay.
On W. Burdick Street a concerned citizen reported that a female teen was being assaulted by others.
Two female teens and three male teens were talked to by Oxford police after the cops were called by a S. Washington Street business manager — the teens were alleged to have been vandalizing the business.
On Ludwig Road a man driving his 18-year-old nephew and 12-year-old niece home, witnessed a naked man on a porch in the neighborhood. Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies visited the home of the naked guy and discovered it was a home for the mentally ill.

Sunday, October 19
An 18-year-old Oxford woman reported at the Oxford Village Police Department, that her boyfriend and several of his friends were calling and harassing her. Police contacted the boyfriend, who said he would stop calling.
Larceny of a purse from the parking lot at Oxford Elementary School on Pontiac Street. The purse was taken from a Lapeer woman’s car, found later and returned to the woman.
A white male was seen running through people’s back yards on Oxford Lakes Dr. Police could not find the individual.
On Woodleigh Way, a concerned neighbor reported that a man in a gray four-door car was in the roadway watching a house for an hour. A few minutes later the concerned neighbor called back stating all was okay, the man was an “undercover P.I.”
Police received a number of 9-11 calls from a “5 or 6-year-old girl” home alone on Sanders Road.
A woman called police to report two youths were in the SE Municipal Parking lot, “taking caps off tires” of parked cars. One was wearing a yellow jacket the other a brown shirt. The two males got away on bikes before the cops could catch ‘em.

After being stopped for having an unlighted registration plate, a 31-year-old Lapeer man was arrested for a second offense of driving with a suspended license.
Oxford Village Police investigated a suspicious circumstance when a resident came into the station with what she claimed was a combination-locked suitcase full of handguns. The woman told police she wanted to hide the weapons from her soon-to-be ex-husband. Officers could not open the suitcase to verify its contents and instructed the woman to hide the items at a family member’s home.

A 39-year-old Oxford man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after being stopped for going 48 mph in the new 35 mph speed zone on Lakeville Rd. Officers were doing a “stationary radar enforcement” in the area at the time.

A 17-year-old Park St. resident reported receiving threats and harassment.
Unusual situation – An 8-year-old child wandered into a downtown Oxford business and asked employees if she could use the phone to call her mother. After questioning the child, the business owners contacted police because the young girl had been left home alone. The police were able to contact the mother and Child Protective Services was called.

The employees contacted the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and a deputy assisted the woman back to the home. The deputy then contacted the Family Independence Agency so that the incident can be reviewed.

War Protest – Oxford dispatch received several phone calls about “12 war protesters standing on the corner” of N. Washington and E. Burdick streets. Several of the calls were from individuals complaining of loitering. One call was from an individual asking why the “police were harassing them.”
A mother on N. Coats Rd. reported possible child abuse after her daughter came home with a bruise after visiting her father in Waterford for the weekend. The mother told officers this had happened in the past.
Residents on Thomas Rd. filed an animal complaint about a neighbor with an aggressive and uncontrollable black dog. An officer attempted to contact the owners of the animal when he was able to experience the dog’s temperament first-hand after stepping on the property. The officer felt threatened by the animal, which was not chained or kept in an enclosure, and drew his pepper spray, but was not forced to use it. After making contact with the owners, the officer informed the residents they would have to keep the animal on a leash or in a fenced enclosure, and patrol in the area would be increased.
A woman on Brookhollow reported some runaways from her home. The situation turned out to be two teenage girls who left the home because they were angry at being punished for smoking a cigarette. The youths were quickly found and returned to their parents.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Oxford Substation investigated the death of a 52-year-old Oxford Township woman. According to the sheriff’s report, the woman’s husband returned home from work around 3 p.m. to find his wife lying on the couch not breathing. The man told authorities he last saw his wife that morning around 6 a.m. and she had been lying in the same position on the couch watching television. After finding his wife, the man called 911 and was instructed to perform CPR. Deputies on the scene called in the medical examiner’s office and handed the case over to an Oakland County Sheriff’s detective.

After receiving phone calls about an unusual circumstance at a vacant home on Dunlap Circle, officers investigated the scene and discovered several youths in the vicinity. The Oakland County Sheriff’s report states that the officers found a 20-year-old youth sitting in a vehicle with an open beer can by his leg. The youth was cited for underage possession of alcohol.

A father on John Paul Court contacted authorities in order to press charges against his 16-year-old son, who took his father’s unregistered 1971 Triumph GT6 without permission. The father informed authorities that the vehicle was not yet registered since it was being restored and that the youth only had a learners permit. The youth was charged by authorities with vehicle taken without permission, violation of license restrictions and unlicensed vehicle on the roadway.
A 38-year-old homeless man, who is often seen around the Oxford Twp. area, was arrested on Oakdell Rd., near N. Lapeer Rd., after being seen trying to get into a car. Officers charged the man with disorderly person for being drunk in public.

After hearing strange noises, a female resident on Harwood Court went into her garage to find an unknown male subject sitting in the passenger seat of her vehicle. The woman stated that she yelled at the man, who then moved to the driver’s seat and started the car. The woman claims she set her garage door to close while the unknown subject began moving in reverse, damaging both the vehicle and the garage door. The woman informed officers the man then took the car keys and ran from the scene.
20-year-old resident on W. Drahner Rd. reported receiving harassing and threatening statements from her ex-boyfriend.

Officers assisted a driver with a disabled motorcycle on Washington St. by calling a taxi from Pontiac. The cab took the man back to Romeo.

41-year-old Oxford man reported being assaulted by the bartender working in Rob’s Place. The 21-year-old female bartender informed police she was defending herself against a hostile customer when she threw a glass at him.

Friday, April 30
A 40-year-old resident on Pineview Court reported several items stolen during the night from the three vehicles parked on his property.
Resident on Springlake Dr. reported several items missing from his unlocked vehicle parked in his driveway.
A resident on Oxford Lakes Dr. chased two unidentified individuals his wife saw stealing items from their truck around two in the morning. The woman awoke when she heard a car door and looked out her bedroom window to see the men sitting in the family’s truck. He husband ran from the home and chased the individuals down the street. Several items were stolen from the truck, and police were unable to locate the subjects.
Suspicious circumstance on Oxford Lakes Dr. turned out to be four individuals arguing in the street. Noises reported by the caller as gun fire turned out to be fireworks at a nearby home.
DPW workers reported juveniles skateboarding at the downtown gazebo.

Pontiac St. resident reported a suspicious circumstance after seeing three juveniles playing around a dump truck at Oxford Elementary.
Family trouble between a couple arguing in the middle of Lapeer Rd. while the vehicle sat parked in traffic.
A 14-year-old female on Harwood Rd. reported receiving harassing text messages and a phone call from what sounded like an ‘older Hispanic male.? Officers called the number on the girl’s phone and spoke with an older man. Officials informed him to cease the messages and phone calls or police action would be taken against him.

Police found minor property damage in Seymour Lake Park after unknown subjects cut the locks off a utility box and restroom. There was also chalk graffiti at the facilities and paint graffiti in the Smith Silo Pavilion.
