The Lake Orion freshman volleyball team celebrated an 8-0 record before the holiday break, defeating Farmington Harrison to open the season.
The team opened at home with a victory over North Farmington.
The Dragons traveled to Waterford Kettering to defend their title as freshman tournament champions.
In pool play, the team defeated Berkley, University Legitt and West Bloomfield.
The Dragons, the only undefeated team in pool play, drew a bye and then defeated Rochester Adams in the semi-finals.
After losing the first game in the finals to Divine Child, the team fought back to win the next two games and secure the tournament championship.
On Dec. 20, the Dragons defeated league rival Royal Oak Kimball. The Lake Orion setters are: Cortney Kimmel, Angela Bennett, Hillary Vigilant and Shawmee Davey.
Outside hitters are Katlyn Van Houzen, Lindsey Van Norman, Jessica Bates-Stovall and Stephanie McClung.
Patrolling the middle of the front court are Ashley Bringard, Jessica Bland, Brittney Vickers and Taylor Hammeral.
