Oxford got a touch of the celebrity limelight last Friday, when it was featured on FOX 2’s new weekly segment, Zip Trip.
Zip Trips showcase special places, rich history and fun things to do in cities that viewers may have never visited before.
Reporter Jackie Page and anchors Fanchon Stinger and Alan Lee spent two hours in Centennial Park interviewing numerous individuals for their morning show.
Village Manager Joe Young was interviewed, as well as Ron and Dora Rolando from Great Lakes Mercantile, Oxford DDA Director, Carolyn Bennett and Polly Ann Trail Manager Amy Murray.
In between the live taping, FOX 2’s special correspondant Tanith Belbin featured two mini-segments, one on Oxford’s history and the fun things to do around town, and the other followed a local mail carrier Vicky Haist, on her route.
Sports reporter, Jason Carr, featured Casa Real Mexican Restaurant as a destination to go for a good meal and a great price.
Anyone outside of town was surely impressed by the live cooking demonstration done by Vicki Connolly, of Victoria’s Delights.
Connolly showed Fox 2 anchor Alan Lee how to make a cedar plank trout in a tight, three-minute slot.
