The death of a four-month-old boy remains under investigation after he was found not breathing Tuesday, July 29 at a Clarkston day care center.
Detective Lonnie Mullins of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Independence Township substation said the care taker, at the licensed center in a private residence on Clarkston Road, put the baby down for a nap. When the baby was checked on 15 to 20 minutes later, he was not breathing.
A 911 call came in at approximately 4 p.m. CPR was performed on the scene, before the boy was transported to the Clarkston Medical Campus on Dixie. There, he was pronounced dead at 4:49 p.m.
Mullins said they suspect nothing suspicious at this point. Results of an autopsy performed on Wednesday are still pending.
