About 530 costumed kids and their parents, some in costumes themselves, filled Clintonwood Park at Friendly Forest last Saturday.
Children 2-9 years old walked the trail, collecting candy from volunteers. Manning stations were mostly high school and junior high students in superhero, cartoon, and fairy tale costumes.
Volunteers Sarai and Kenda Blanks chose Disney costumes for their trick-or-treat station, Sarai as Minnie Mouse and Kenda, Pluto.
“It’s fun,” said Sarai, in her first year volunteering for Friendly Forest. “I’m enjoying it. I love Minnie ? she’s my favorite Disney character.”
Independence Township Parks and Recreation partnered with Clarkston Optimists Club to host the annual Halloween event.
