The Lake Orion High School Forensics team started their season off with a bang at last Saturday’s Athens Icicle Invite.
Over 28 teams and 300 competitors participated in the tournament, and Lake Orion brought home some important hardware.
Individually, Orion’s Diane McNulty was crowned champion in the Prose category, and teammate Rebecca Ryan took fifth.
Also in the top six for Lake Orion were Cody Stauber, second place – Storytelling-Open, Mindy Stubbs, fourth place – Informative, and Dana Spears, fifth place – Informative.
Lake Orion High School also brought home the overall fourth place trophy in the extra-large school division.
Oakview Middle School, the only middle school to participate in the tournament, came home with some hardware as well, as they received the overall third place trophy for the large school division. They had three competitors finish in the top 12 after qualifying for semi-finals.
