Flea market to benefit Oxford students

If you’re looking? for a cozy place to sell some items that may be collecting dust in your home, try selling it at the Brotherhood Flea Market.
Beginning Saturday, Oct. 6, vendors can participate in the year-round, indoor flea market that makes its home at the Brotherhood Masonic Lodge-561 in Brandon.
Antiques, clothes, toys, tools, arts and crafts, books and coins will be on display in the 19-table room, but they’re always looking for more vendors.
‘There’s no limitation on what you can bring,? said Tom McCarville, past master of the lodge. ‘That gives us a wide variety to attract people.?
What’s nice about participating in this flea market, according to McCarville, is that vendors can leave their items at the lodge from week to week. No more packing everything up and hauling it out when the day’s over.
There’s even coffee, doughnuts, hot dogs and chips for those who come for a lunch trip.
For just $10 for an 8-ft. table, or $15 if you plan to leave your items each week, anyone can have a space to sell their items.
Money collected from vendors will go toward paying heating/lighting bills for the lodge and toward scholarships for students in Oxford and Brandon.
‘We’re trying to utilize our assets because we want to give more into the community,? McCarville said.
The Brotherhood Masonic Lodge Flea Market is located at 5855 Oakwood Rd. in Brandon just west of Baldwin Rd. Come visit from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. every Saturday.
