Fishermen’s bodies recovered

The bodies of three fishermen were recovered last week from Saginaw Bay after they were reported missing late Saturday April 29 in their17-foot Tracker Bass boat.
At approximently 8:33 a.m., May 11, the body of Brian Ferguson 42, of Prichard W.V. was recovered near White Stone Point, just south of the Iosco County line by a resident who was out walking his dog. At approximently 8:19 a.m. May 12, the body of Rodney Ferguson, 37, of Ortonville was recovered near Point Lookout in Arenac County. Later that same day, the Huron County Sheriff office reported the recovery of the body of Mark Adkins, Sr. of Imlay City off the shore of Arenac County in the area of the mouth of the Au Gres River.
According to Huron County Sheriff reports, shortly after noon on April 30 a Coast Guard helicopter located their boat adrift approximately 3 miles east of Standish on the west side of Saginaw Bay. The boat was later towed to Sebewaing, Mich. where deputies inspected the boat. The battery was dead, about five gallons of gas was in the tank and all safety equipment required by law was onboard including life preservers. Family members told deputies that all men had cells phones but only one was found on board when the boat was located on Sunday.
The search area covered about 150 square miles on the east side of Saginaw Bay west of the islands
