The Oxford Varsity girls softball team won their first game of the season against West Bloomfield 3-1 at last weekend’s Michigan Stars Classic Tournement in Sterling Heights.
The girls also competed against Lapeer West, North Farmington, Walled Lake Central and Davison.
Sophomore Kelsey Oliver batted two for three and scored two runs in the first inning of the game against West Bloomfield. Senior Jamie Badia also contributed to the win with two RBI’s.
Oxford kept West at bay until the sixth inning when they scored their first and only point.
The girl’s game against Davison was hard fought and saw two runs scored from Lauren LaCroix and three from Tiffany West, but the girls lost 10-11.
The girl’s overall score is now 1-20. They take on Lapeer East away on Thursday at 4 p.m.
