Fire extinguishes itself before hitting trailer

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department was called to a home on the 200 block of Winding Brook Dr. in the Hidden Lakes Mobile Home Park in Addison Twp. early Thursday morning for possible attempt at arson.
According to the sheriff’s report, a homeowner nearby saw ‘blue flames? in the yard across from her and quickly called 9-1-1.
When sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene, there was no active fire, but a ‘strong odor of accelerants? were emanating from the yard.
The K-9 Arson Unit was called to the scene to search for an accelerant and found a one-gallon gas can on the northeast end of the trailer.
No one was inside the trailer at the time of the incident and could not be reached afterward.
According to the report, the gasoline was found on the front door of the trailer and siding.
It appears the fire extinguished itself before it could do any harm.
The sherrif’s department is considering it a case of malicious destruction of property
